I had never been to the desert before. The open landscape was rigid with spiked Joshua trees and low-laying scrub brush. I liked the openness. It felt like this basin was a barren bowl, exposed to the rays of the sun beaming down. The rays expanded as far as eye could see. I was excited to explore the vast desert.
It was less of a desire to explore all of the possible micro-ecosystems in the desert, but to let myself absorb as much of the vastness of desert beauty as possible. We traveled to Joshua Tree for a wedding and it was an incredible weekend. We spent one full day travelling through the National Park and I could have spent two weeks. Reflecting on fun travels makes me want to go on another trip soon! Until then, friends!
