January: books I read

1–2 minutes

One of my new year intensions is to read more. In fact, 12 books this year. I didn’t put a metric down per month because I know there will be some months that I won’t have the capacity to read with my job. But during months that I can read, I will make progress towards my goal.

For the month of January, I finished three books! Here are my notes below on each book.

The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley: highly recommend. This was a combination of a solve the murder mystery/drama with a bit of romance. It wasn’t what I was expecting, and it ended up exceeding my expectations!

City of Love by Gracie Ruth Mitchell: highly recommend. This was a cute story of a young high school gal with a French pen who she goes to visit and drama ensues. It was a captivating read! Also my French roots loved the references to Paris.

Funny Story by Emily Henry: recommend. I enjoyed this story, of romances that fall apart and then fall together – it had some steamy romance but felt a little long for the plot. I’d still recommend if you like to read fiction love stories.
